Harden Foundation - Use of Estate Facilities

The Board of Directors of the Harden Foundation offers the Harden Home, Bunkhouse Conference Room, patio, and garden areas to eligible organizations to use for various meetings, retreats, or special events.

The Harden Home, built by Duncan McKinnon in 1881, was the center of the Home Ranch and the focus of many friendly gatherings throughout the Harden’s lives in Salinas. Today it serves as headquarters for the Harden Foundation. The Harden Foundation office, the Harden Home and patio, the Bunkhouse Conference Room, and the historic Wind Engine and gristmill are located on the estate. The well maintained and preserved buildings serve to continue the tradition of promoting friendly gatherings and meetings of organizations that have benefited from their legacy. The estate is located on 5.2 acres in the north Salinas area.

Who may use the facilities?
Harden Foundation associates; current and past grantee organizations of the Harden Foundation; and other organizations invited by the Harden Foundation are the primary users of the facilities.

There is no rental charge for use of the facilities.

Those being invited to use the facilities must complete a Nonprofit Organization Registration Packet (once per year). This registration packet must be approved and on file with the Harden Foundation before a grantee organization can use the facilities.

After a registration packet is approved, a nonprofit organization only needs to submit a “Use Request Form” per occasion.

The facilities are available Monday-Friday: 8a.m. to 5 p.m.

To reserve the facilities, please contact Lydia Torres at Lydia@hardenfoundation.org or call our office at (831) 442-3005 to find out the availability of the facility you wish to use.

You may download the Harden Foundation Estate Facilities forms from our website or contact our office to have them mailed or faxed to your organization.
