Alzheimer’s Association/Monterey County Chapter- $30,000

This Alzheimer’s Association provides support groups, education, information, advocacy, and referral services for victims with Alzheimer’s disease and their families. This matching grant provided operating support for their programs.

Beacon House - $15,000

Beacon House is a residential recovery program serving people with drug and alcohol problems. This capital grant helped with the complete replacement of new plumbing lines within their main house.

 Blind and Visually Impaired Center of Monterey County $35,000

This capital grant helped offset costs of renovating the multi-purpose building at their Pacific Grove facility.

Breathe California Central Coast $20,000

This matching grant provided operating support to help them continue to provide services promoting lung health and to help fight lung disease in Monterey County.

California Shock/Trauma Air Rescue $5,000

This grant provided capital funds to purchase and install a new medical infusion pump for a helicopter that serves Monterey County residents.

Camp Kindle $15,000

This funding helped provide children and youth from Monterey County who are infected or affected by HIV and AIDS the opportunity to attend summer camp in southern California.

Central Coast Center for Independent Living - $35,000

This organization helps disabled clients with benefits, counseling, information and referrals, as well as independent skills. This matching grant provided operating support for their programs throughout Monterey County.

Children’s Care Coalition $25,000

Children’s Care Coalition mitigates the barriers to care for underserved, critically-ill children and their families through a centralized system coordinating efforts of hospitals, hospices, home health, and community-based agencies. This funding provided operating support to continue providing these services.

 

Christine Marie's STAR Riders - $35,000

This grant provided support to continue providing therapeutic horseback riding services to children and adults with disabilities.

Compassionate Care Alliance - $5,000

This organization began as a grassroots coalition group in the spring of 2000 to help improve end-of-life care for Monterey County residents. Their mission is to provide access to comprehensive information and resources and to raise public awareness of end-of-life issues, care choices and planning. This grant helped them provide outreach and end-of-life information to residents countywide.

Coastal Kids Home Care $51,000

Coastal Kids Home Care provides specialized pediatric medical, therapeutic and social services to any child living with a medical condition. This grant provided capital funding and operating support to help them continue to provide services to children in Monterey County.

Easter Seals Central California - $25,000

Easter Seals offers recreational, therapeutic, and educational programs for children and adults with special needs and their families. This matching grant provided operating support for the Creative Pathway program in Monterey County.

Gateway Center of Monterey County- $25,000

This capital grant provided funding to purchase kitchen and dining room equipment for their facility in Pacific Grove.

 Hospice Foundation of the Central Coast $5,000

This matching grant helped fund the Gimme A Break Project, a respite care program of the Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula.

John XXIII Commission for AIDS Ministry $20,000

This matching grant provided operating support for their Emotional Support/End-of-Life Services Program serving individuals with AIDS and their families.

Josephine Kernes Memorial Pool - $30,000

At the Kernes pool, indoor, low cost, warm water therapy helps children and adults from all parts of Monterey County. This matching grant provided support for operating expenses.

Kinship Center - $40,000

This Harden Foundation grant helped with start-up operational costs and one-time capital expenses for the D’Arrigo Children’s Mental Health Clinic located in the new wing of the center.

Mee Memorial Hospital - $6,700

Mee Memorial Hospital is the principal provider of health care services and an educational outlet for the residents and businesses of southern Monterey County. This funding helped them renew Krames On-Demand, an automated educational tool for patients.

Monterey County AIDS Project, Inc. – $25,000

This organization provides counseling and volunteer services to individuals living with HIV/AIDS and their families in order to help improve their quality of life. This matching grant provided support for their education and prevention program for high risk youth.

Multiple Sclerosis Community Services $25,000

This matching grant provided funding for operating support for their Outreach Project providing limited in-home as well as education and outreach services to individuals with MS and their families.

Multiple Sclerosis Quality of Life Project $20,000

This organization assists persons living with multiple sclerosis attain the greatest degree of independent possible through the creation of cohesive and comprehensive care plans on an on-going basis. This grant provided support to help them continue providing services to residents in Monterey County.

 Planned Parenthood Mar Monte - $35,000

This matching grant provided operating support to continue one of their two established Teen Success groups in Salinas.

Soledad Community Health Care District Foundation - $40,000

This grant provided funds to help them purchase a digital x-ray machine at the Rural Health Clinic in Soledad. This organization provides healthcare services to residents of Soledad and surrounding communities.
